Bhakt Prahalad and the potter woman

Prahlad’s devotion made Lord Hari to take the form of Narsimha Avatar to save his dear devotee from the repeated attempts on his life by his own Demoniac father Hiranya Kashyap.

But did you know that, Prahlada Maharaj himself was once inspired by an old potter woman’s faith in God while wandering in his kingdom.

The story goes like this: once Prahalad was wandering in his kingdom and saw an old potter lady bitterly crying and praying to God. On inquiring the reason, she told him how a pair of small kittens were snugged by her in a clay pot made by her, for their safety.

However, they were unknowingly transported to the oven along with all the other pots for baking, by her son.

And now she was weeping and praying to God for their safety since it was impossible for anyone to enter the furnace and locate them, or for that matter stop the fire in kiln.

Therefore it was only God who could save those kittens from the fire now. When Prahlad questioned her if she trusted God to give protection to the kittens, she replied as a matter of fact conviction.

Prahlad was moved by her faith and was surprised to see the pair of kittens untouched by the fire the next day when the pots were removed from the oven.

This gave Prahlad immense conviction that God would also protect him in his trials and thus he fearlessly faced all the tortures inflicted by his father and remained unscathed just like those kittens.

His faith made Lord Hari appear from a pillar to save Him and devour his demoniac father.

Chant Haribol and praise the Lord!!!
